Knockout Football began as a manually run office “last-man-standing” game.
It relied on spreadsheets, chasing people, and messy rules.

The goal was to turn it into a self-serve, community-led football prediction web app.

It needed to run multiple public games at once.

It needed live Premier League fixtures, entry fees, and automated payouts.
Most of all, it had to feel simple, competitive, and easy to share.

Trust was non-negotiable. If it felt even slightly sketchy, payments would fail and growth would stall.

We built the product around the core loop: join → pick → track → repeat.
Everything else served that.

We optimised for community growth: fast onboarding, simple invites, and game states you can scan in seconds.

We designed for trust and fairness: rules and deadlines surfaced at decision points, clear lockouts, and edge cases handled early (rollovers, split winnings) so payouts are easy to understand.

The identity was bold but not garish.
Clean type, high contrast, and energetic colours (avoiding the usual red/blue sports look) made it feel premium and legit, with a distinctive “K” mark that reads instantly in icons and share tiles.

Knockout Football reaches nearly 10,000 users in the first year through word of mouth and community sharing. Games regularly build payout pools of over £2,000. Retention stays strong because the product is simple, fair, and competitive every gameweek.
