ProTradePay is a fuel and trade card platform built to simplify credit access and rewards for tradespeople.

When we joined they were early stage and mid-raise, with everything still to prove. They needed to look credible instantly and convert attention into signups, with a product experience strong enough to win over sceptical tradespeople and watching investors at the same time.

The scope was the whole front door: a speed-run brand, the web build, and an app MVP, all landing as one coherent product.

We ran the branding as a sprint. Enough identity to look established from day one without burning weeks the raise didn't have, then poured the time saved into product.

The app MVP was designed around the moment that matters most: signing up. We broke registration into logical, grouped steps to cut cognitive load, used non-committal language and light-touch validation so joining felt low-risk, and guided people through with patterns they already trusted.

Then we designed and built the web platform to do the convincing. A clean, credible interface that made a young company feel like an incumbent, with the trade card experience front and centre.

The waitlist passed 80,000 users in the first year, far beyond the initial growth targets, and major industry partners including Shell, Morrisons, Esso, UK Fuels and Screwfix backed the platform early.

Investor feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with the product experience repeatedly cited as a reason to believe. The MVP we designed is now the foundation the platform is scaling on.
